How Can I Make A Difference?

Global Warming is caused by many things. The causes are split up into two groups, man-made or anthropogenic causes, and natural causes. Man-made contributes most to global warming; pollution is the main cause for global warming. Burning fossil fuels is one thing that causes pollution, when fossil fuels are burned they give Global off a green house gas called CO2 which is carbon dioxide.

Natural causes are causes created by nature. One natural cause is a release of methane gas from arctic tundra and wetlands. Methane is a greenhouse gas. A greenhouse gas is a gas that traps heat in the earth's atmosphere. Another natural cause is that the earth goes through a cycle of climate change. This climate change usually lasts about 40,000 years.

Effects that are caused by global warming would be polar icecaps melting, warmer water n more hurricanes and much more. Polar icecaps melting would cause a rise in sea level. According to the National Snow and Ice Data Centre, if all glaciers melted today the seas would rise about 230 feet. This would be how serious the sea level rises if global warming worsens. When sea level rises, it would naturally cause an increase in the number of hurricanes and an increase in number of hurricanes would also cause economic consequences as it will cause up to billion dollars of damage.

Our group is currently doing a mini project of holding a 3R poster competition for all levels. We would also be investigating all classes to find out which class has the least amount of litter in the class and we would have a reward for that too.
